Lampung is a province of Indonesia and is located on the southern tip of the island of Sumatra and borders the provinces of Bengkulu and South Sumatra and its capital is Bandar Lampung.
Although it boasts stunning scenery, volcanoes, wildlife reserves, a magnificent lake and a coastline of deep-cut bays and wonderful beaches, it is often overlooked by tourists in Indonesia.
The tagline for the area should be known as ‘Santai (Relax) in Lampung’ as you will see many locals sitting outside their houses, staring and watching the world go by after finishing the days duties. It is not an area ruined by tourism and is a real treat to be able to see people go about their daily lives and be shocked to see a visiting foreigner.
As always throughout Indonesia, the hospitality of the locals is second to none and I guarantee you will enjoy if you’re not looking for a hectic schedule and have time to relax and just soak up the atmosphere.
